Continuing Care for Sustained Addiction Recovery
Continuing care (or aftercare) helps clients evade the most dangerous trap of all after leaving Florida drug rehab - relapse! In fact, people who stay in continuing care programs past treatment are most likely to build a strong recovery foundation and achieve long-term sobriety. At Simple Path Recovery, we are delighted to offer a complete aftercare program to each of our clients. The Florida addiction aftercare program focuses on extending services tailored to each client's individual needs. For example, we offer post-treatment continued family therapy or individual outpatient sessions through telehealth. We also make routine alumni follow-up phone calls. Lastly, we offer sober living (or halfway houses) for clients that can stay in Florida want to gradually build a bridge back to the “real world.”
Essentially, each client will develop an aftercare program with their therapist that strategically sets them up for “sober” success. Moreover, we help our clients find and choose a recovery house anywhere in the United States. We will also help you locate and secure a follow-up outpatient appointment in your home area. Every client receives guidance such as how to maintain active life of sobriety, how to develop support networks, and more. Furthermore, we stay in touch with each client for a minimum of one year, as a commitment to each client’s care and overall well-being.
New Telehealth for Continuing Care
Simple Path Recovery recently implemented telehealth technology for all of its continuing care services. In this way, we can provide direct support to our clients and their families when they need us after discharge. For example, we can video chat for a family therapy session or an individual one. These can be performed as an outpatient service. We can also provide these services onsite to reduce contact concerns for staff and clients. This emerging technology has allowed us to treat as many clients as possible during Covid-19 and beyond.
Telemedicine can permit patients with substance use disorder (SUD) to remain in treatment and continue receiving counseling for their addiction recovery. Through superior convenience, decreased travel time and expense savings, telehealth offers extra benefits for patients, doctors, therapists and the entire behavioral health care system.

Recognizing Addiction Triggers and Having a Plan
During Florida drug rehab and continuing care, clients benefit from treatments that identify triggers and find solutions. Triggers are distinctive and very personal, so this has to be a personalized process. Simply recognizing those personal triggers is a huge stride in the right direction. After pinpointing triggers, clients and Simple Path Recovery therapists work together to find alternative activities that don’t involve using drugs or alcohol. Triggers include stress, hunger, thirst, loneliness, financial problems and more. Consequently, solutions must be just as distinct or individualized.

Developing New Interests To Replace Addiction
Some clients find that exercising vigorously reduces triggers. Whether it's running, doing yoga or strength training, recovering addicts typically turn their pursuits to healthy lifestyles. At the same time, eating healthy cuts down on those cravings for addictive substances. Whether it's joining a 12-step support group, singing, or attending a hobby class, recovery welcomes new interests and focus. More importantly, these replacements for drug or alcohol use reduces triggers, cravings, and the risk of dangerous relapse. While Simple Path therapists focus on addiction and behavioral health, they are also advocates and coaches for change; the kind of change that creates an entirely new, sober lifestyle!
