What is Outpatient (OP) Addiction Treatment?
Outpatient (OP) addiction treatment is a method of alcohol or drug rehabilitation in which clients visit an addiction treatment center, hospital, clinic, or therapist on an appointment basis (much the same as regular doctor). These programs usually include individual and group therapy, and are most suitable for individuals who have stepped down from partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient.
The biggest distinction between outpatient and inpatient programs is the living arrangements during treatment. While inpatient programs offer 24-hour supervision and demands residence at a treatment property, outpatient programs allow you to live at home while receiving treatment. As a result, clients in outpatient face minimal interruption to work or school while still being able to join a peer-oriented addiction program. At Simple Path Recovery, we offer OP services during the course of the week that accommodate client schedules. Treatment is also available via telehealth for clients that no longer live locally, but still want to maintain continuity of care with their therapist.

Outpatient Services via Telehealth
New telehealth services offer clients with substance use disorder (SUD) the opportunity to continue their addiction treatment without being there in-person. Telehealth offers clients the added benefits of superior convenience, eliminated travel time and cost savings. In this environment, clients and therapists meet virtually through a secure video connection. All the same things transpire as they would in an office minus being there in person.
Advantages of Telehealth
Convenience. Therapy without the time and cost of travel is the biggest advantage of telehealth. Tele-therapy encourages clients to attend treatment without the barriers of transportation, time-constraints, or childcare issues.
Reduced Cost. Since there is no need to commute to a physical location, tele-therapy sessions eliminate all costs associated with getting to and from a counselor’s office. It also removes the need for costly childcare for many.
More Flexibility. Tele-therapy offers more flexibility to a client’s schedule with appointment availability past normal business hours. Also, clients living in rural areas can receive top-notch addiction care without having to travel long distances.
