Educational Group Therapy: The more we know about why we feel the way we feel, the more we can learn about managing our emotions and dealing with the everyday stressors which may come with recovery. Psychoeducational groups focus on the tie between psychology and addiction so that individuals may better understand how treatment can help them and get the most from their time in treatment.

Interpersonal Process Group Therapy: In these therapy sessions, the group counselor will work to identify and address the emotions each individual is feeling as of present. Additionally, group interactions based on these emotions are monitored and addressed. The point of this type of therapy is to identify how present emotions may be based on past events, behaviors, and experiences. And, to address these past issues so that present emotions and thought patterns are not affected.

Skill Development: To have the best chance at successful recovery and remain sober, individuals must develop coping skills which will help them to prevent relapse. And, a group setting allows individuals to practice these coping skills with other individuals. This way, when treatment concludes, individuals can feel confident in their ability to experience daily interactions without the threat of relapse.

Support Group Therapy: When most people think of group therapy for addiction, they think of support groups. These weekly meetings allow individuals to share in their recovery achievements, develop lifelong sober friendships, and discover helpful resources.
